…Okay so it wasn’t completely like that. But the room was red.
This was our first gig in the West End at the Comedy with Dead or Alive Promotions.
The very thought of trying to drive around the centre looking for a cheap place to park made this gig a tube job (added to because the venue could also supply the backline). Unfortunately Simon found out one of the downsides to having all your sounds set by the amp. Especially an amp without wheels…
Once there all was good. Its a cool little venue and the engineer was great. Although when we sound checked at the beginning the engineer came over shaking his head saying “your just too loud”. This is mainly because we haven’t had the amps mic’d up before and JD isn’t the quietest drummer you’ll hear. Plus it being Rock! 🙂 Once this was sorted the sound was nicely rounded. A lot of people remarked on it being one of the only gigs we’ve played where everything could be heard evenly. A lesson, then, to put your faith in what the engineer says…possibly not all engineers though! 🙂
We went for a much more ‘BAM-BAM-into the next song’ method this time. It was an excellent feeling. No pause for a breather, only a capo change. The audience appeared to approve of this method too. A BIG thanks to all those who came to see us.
We also met Fil and Grif from Wings of Pegasus there. Great guys. We went to see them play on Sat. Worth going to see if you can. They put on a great show.  http://www.wingsofpegasusband.com
